Bensalem is a township located in Bucks County, just north of Philadelphia. Bensalem is the largest municipality in Bucks County and the ninth-largest in Pennsylvania, with a population of more than 60,400 people.

Bensalem was originally founded in 1692, making it almost as old as Pennsylvania itself. Bensalem remained a farming community for most of its history until the 1950s, when businesses began to settle in. In the 1960s, the construction of I-95 brought more business and development.

Bensalem is home to the corporate headquarters of Ibanez Guitars, Tama Drums, Rita’s Franchies Company, LLC, and Charming Shoppes. Other large employers include the Bensalem Township School District and Suez Water Technologies & Solutions.

Bensalem is home to several major attractions, such as the Parx Casino and Racetrack, which was the original home of 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes Champion Smarty Jones. The casino boasts a massive 250,000 square feet of gaming, entertainment and banquet space. The Penn Community Bank Amphitheater is also located in Bensalem and remains a popular concert venue. Bensalem’s Neshaminy Mall was one of the first to be constructed in the country in 1968 and features over 120 shops and eateries. Its movie theater, the AMC Neshaminy 24 Theater, is both the largest and highest sales producing theater in the Commonwealth.

Bensalem hosts several community events, such as the civil war reenactments which take place annually at Neshaminy State Park. They are the Largest free event of their kind on the East Coast and attract over 20,000 people each year. Bensalem also holds the annual Bensalem Fall Festival, which boasts concerts, games, vendors and a fireworks display.

Bensalem is also home to several registered historic places, such as the Growden Mansion and Andalusia, as well as two state parks: Neshaminy State Park and Benjamin Rush State Park.
